NIOSA is put on entirely by volunteers, so consider joining the fun as a volunteer and help the Conservation Society preserve the built and natural heritage of our region. Volunteers with any expertise are welcome: office/clerical, staging, booth shifts, and teardown.

THIS FORM IS FOR NEW VOLUNTEERS WHO DO NOT HAVE AN ASSIGNED SHIFT. IF YOU HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO WORK A SHIFT YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE HOLD HARMLESS FORM. We will look for opportunities where we have a need and will have someone contact you when a position becomes available.

Our event setup begins on April 16, 2024. The event dates are April 23 - 26, 2024. Tear down will take place on April 27, 2024.

NIOSA Volunteer Options

What times would you be available to volunteer?

Pre-Event:

Daytime: Staging, set up booths (9 AM to 6 PM)
Weekend: Staging, set up booths (9 AM to 6 PM)
Weekend: Kitchen Assistance (3-hour shifts) (9 AM to 6 PM)

Skills

Are you TABC certified or willing to take a TABC course by March 18, 2022.

Most booth position require occasional lifting and prolonged standing. Are you able to lift 20-30 lbs. on occasions and stand for at least 3 hours?

NIOSA Volunteer Jobs

Kitchen Food Preparation: Work in the NIOSA Kitchen prior to the event skewering meat for the Bongo K-Bobs booth.
Staging/Teardown: Setup and teardown of NIOSA booths, stages, areas, etc. Staging begins 1-week prior to NIOSA and teardown begins the Saturday after NIOSA. Includes building booths, decorating, delivering appliances and equipment.
Booth Worker - Shifts are generally from 4:30 - 8:00 PM and 7:30 - 11:00 PM. Work in booths to prepare and serve foods, assist with cleanup, etc.
Alcohol Booth Worker - Shifts are generally from 4:30 - 8:00 PM and 7:30 - 11:00 PM. Work in booths to prepare and serve foods, assist with cleanup, etc. Must be 30 years old.
NIOSA Gates: Volunteers are needed to work from 3:00 PM until approximately 10:00 PM to scan tickets at the gates or sell and reload credits on RFID wristband for purchase of food and drinks.
